Boron
A non-metal which exists in several forms including an amorphous brown powder and a hard, dark, shiny crystalline allotrope.
 Cryatalline chunks Cryatalline chunks.
Boron is most easily obtainable as a fine brown powder. This is somewhat flammable (boron powder is an ingredient of solid rocket fuel) and not good to inhale. We were therefore very pleased to find boron in this much more attractive solid crystalline form. It is produced by the thermal decomposition of boron halides at high temperature.
